A fun, action-packed adventure!

Aqua Explorers
Aqua Explorers is an action-based winter dive club for kids who love the ocean. Children from 8 years old will have the chance to gain their ‘passport to the ocean’ in a safe and encouraging environment, creating family memories and developing a growth mindset.
For children aged 10 years and up our young divers-in-training will experience a camp to remember and become PADI open-water certified within the week.
 
  • PADI Junior Open Water Certified Course
  • Max 4 students per PADI Instructor
  • For older children 10 years and up
  • Free membership to Aqua Explorers Club

Please note children should be competent in the water, this course requires basic watermanship skills.

Scuba Camp for Kids
For children aged 8 to 10 years old, our budding younger junior divers will enjoy a camp like no other!
  • PADI Bubblemaker certified intro to diving
  • PADI Seal Team Aquamissions 1-8
  • Max 4 students per PADI Instructor
  • Ocean-themed arts and crafts activities
  • For children 8 to 10 years old
  • Free membership to Aqua Explorers Club
     
Please note children should be competent in the water, this camp requires basic watermanship skills.

What to Expect

A fun-filled adventure camp with in-water and dry land activities for all age groups. All scuba equipment is included, however, parents are advised to purchase a 3mm shorty for in-pool training and/or 3mm wetsuit for the open water dives.

Learning Objectives
  • Define Citizen Scientist

  • Define Carbon and its impact on our eco-system

  • Use a food carbon calculator to conduct a scientific investigation of carbon and its footprint from 1 meal – lunch!

  • Differentiate between food types that have a low versus a high carbon footprint

  • Pledge to choose more of 3 types of low-carbon footprint foods.

Overview
  • Introduction to the topic and run through the definitions and benefits of citizen science.

  • Group to use the carbon food calculator and calculate their lunch.

  • Group to share their scores and food and organise themselves in a low-to-high line-up.

  • Roll out the Food for Thought Pledge Scroll!

  • Student to design their Lunch score, and below (having learned from the group) they write their 3 pledges for lower carbon lunches.

  • Monthly check-in to see how many kept their Pledge.
